Who Needs Pain-Management?
Athletes are always in some degree of pain, either from training for competition or from actually competing. That’s why pain-management is vital for the long-term success of the pros.
Fortunately for top athletes, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has this year removed THC-free Cannabidiol, CBD, from its list of banned substances. It’s an unprecedented breakthrough. WADA’s extensive scientific research, education, and development of anti-doping policies impact all sports and all countries.
How Is It Possible To Get CBD Without THC?
It isn’t if you’re using medical marijuana. Even the strains with high levels of CBD have significant amounts of THC. But not so with CBD rich hemp oil which contains little or no THC!
U.S. Vets suffer a lot of pain, too. For too many of these brave souls, their pain and depression is unbearable. Doctors would routinely send suffering vets home with prescriptions for opioids.
According to Time magazine’s 2018 Special Edition, Marijuana Goes Main Street, vets stay in touch with each other and word about killing pain using CBD spread fast. By 2013, “… thousands of PTSD veterans had ditched their opioid prescriptions in favor of medical marijuana.” And now they have a new THC free option, CBD rich hemp oil.
The Woodstock Generation? You know who you are. You’re a Boomer! You have aches and pains at your age. Now you don’t have to live in a state where medical marijuana is legal. Cannabidiol (CBD) rich hemp oil is legal in all 50 states because it’s sold as nutritional supplement not a drug.
CBD Works For Adults And Children
In fact, the FDA approved a breakthrough CBD-based pharmaceutical in June 2018, to reduce seizures in children.
The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) recently told its millions of members about Mikhail Kogan, M.D., medical director of the George Washington University Center for Integrative Medicine. He has prescribed CBD for his patients since the compound was legalized for medical use in the District of Columbia in 2011.
Dr. Kogan says cannabinoids are
safer than Tylenol or caffeine by tenfold. If you compare them to opiates, they’re about 10,000 times safer.
He recommends placing a few drops of the oil under the tongue.
For pain-management the majority of CBD users report they find desired pain relief using anywhere from 10 to 40 mg daily. However, some studies show larger doses.
No One Has Ever Died From Taking Too Much CBD
No animal in any of the many CBD experiences suffered any side effects, either. That would include…
- The 2011 study where CBD helped reduce inflammatory pain in rats by influencing the way pain receptors respond to stimuli.
- The 2014 examination of research on animals that concludes CBD could be a safe and effective treatment for joint pain.
- The 2016 trial that found the topical use of CBD also had the potential to relieve pain and inflammation associated with arthritis.
- The 2017 study showing CBD could be the safest-yet treatment for joint pain.
With rapidly growing numbers of athletes, vets and boomers turning to CBD for pain relief, demand for legal THC-free CBD rich hemp oil is likely to reach record levels this month, next month, and again the month after that with no end in sight.
As you read this, at least 20 new clinical trials examining the effectiveness of (CBD) are underway.
One standout study is a massive $16 million effort by the University of Miami. It is studying the positive effects CBD might have on brain trauma. Ask any football player (or their parents) if that’s an important area to examine!
