When people think about cannabis, they always come to the same conclusion – it is a means of getting high. However, that is not always the case. Most people do not realize the potential of cannabis as a medicinal drug.

Facts About Cannabidiol

  • Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural component of the cannabis of health plant. Constituted by various compounds called cannabinoids, the most famous of which are THC and CBD. CBD is often confused with its cousin compound, THC. Cannabidiol (CBD) can be extracted from cannabis to get CBD oil but it does not get you high.
  • CBD does not get you high. The feeling of getting high from smoking marijuana cannot be obtained from ingesting CBD. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive and does not affect brain receptors. CBD, however, can help improve brain and cognitive function. The use of CBD can possibly negate the psychoactive effects of THC and may even help with cravings and insomnia.
  • Cannabidiol is a potential superdrug. Researches have shown that CBD is likely very helpful in treating various diseases and ailments. In contrast with THC, CBD is known for its antipsychotic effects. The best thing about using CBD as an alternative treatment is that it does not have negative side effects.
  • Cannabidiol eases anxiety and panic disorders.  Users of CBD are reported to be more alert but relaxed. CBD studies show it has a soothing effect in addiction, memory impairment, paranoia, and extreme anxiety.
  •  Cannabidiol is a major  nutrient.  The cannabis plant, as well as its extracts, has sparked debate as to whether or not it should be legalized. Generally, the use of the cannabis plant, including cannabidiol, has been prohibited in most countries. These legislative prohibitions have hindered the development of the potential of the cannabis plant for medicinal purposes. In spite of the promising effects of CBD, the lack of sufficient scientific research has made the use of cannabis continue to be a stigma. This stigma attached to the use of cannabis stems from the notion that cannabis is only used for its sedative and psychoactive effects. Additionally, most people fear that legalizing the use of cannabis and its parts can lead to an increase in abuse of the substance. However, what is unrealized is the potential that CBD has when it comes to treating medical conditions.
  • Cannabidiol, or CBD, can be used in different forms. CBD can be taken as a supplement. It can be incorporated into a person’s daily dietary intake. Oftentimes, it is extracted from the cannabis plant and used in the form of oil or tincture. CBD oil is usually mixed with hemp oil in different concentrations.
